Job description

Manpower has an exciting opportunity that has become available for an experienced and proven LPG Key Account Manager. Within this role, you will be working for one of the leading UK Liquified Petroleum Gas suppliers.

Reporting to the Head of UK Bulk Sales, you will be responsible for the development of commercial bulk gas sales and margin management. You will also be responsible for implementing national sales policies and will be accountable for the growth and profitability of both new and existing accounts.

We are looking for someone with the following essential skills:

  1. Full UK driving licence
  2. IT literacy
  3. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  4. Excellent communication skills
  5. Profitable sales, negotiation, and closing skills at senior level
  6. Stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  7. Time and priority management skills
  8. Strong organisational skills
  9. Presentation skills
  10. Ability to build a network of business contacts to achieve targets
  11. 'Hunting' mindset - acquiring new business outside current portfolio

Desirable:

  1. Experience and knowledge of the LPG business sector
  2. Experience and knowledge of the energy business sector (Oil, Renewables, Gas)

We recognize that the energy sector is very niche, and we are open to considering candidates who have proven track records in acquiring new business at a senior level, even if they lack direct LPG experience. A willingness to learn, grow, and succeed within the LPG sector is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Achieve targets for volume, revenue, gross margin, and P+L
  2. Drive forward new products and strategies
  3. Monitor and resolve customer queries
  4. Utilize delegated authorities and tools such as DCF, CPI correctly
  5. Manage accounts and maintain customer relations
  6. Attend industry events and conferences
  7. Manage pipeline activities including prospecting, re-contracting, and pricing
  8. Control sales OPEX
  9. Implement annual RPI inflation price increases
  10. Monitor and report on competitor activity
  11. Develop relationships with internal support functions

Key Requirements:

  1. Home/field-based role with the ability to work from an office when required
  2. Reporting to the Head of Sales Bulk UK
  3. Work within a team of 8 Key Account Managers
  4. Regular travel within designated areas, including some national travel
