Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Operations Coordinator to join our Insurance Operations team.

This role will sit within our London and UK Regions COO function. The Service Delivery team plays a vital role in supporting various business lines within our Underwriting team based in London, UK, while undertaking transformation activities to broaden and better control the services provided. This exciting opportunity will allow the incumbent to play an integral part in strengthening the operational resilience of the services provided by the Operations function, while laying the foundations for a career in Insurance.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Transaction Processing

• Policy Administration and Workflow SME
• Month-end close reconciliation and reporting
• Quarter End reporting – including electronic placement Stats, PBQA, and others
• Support of Facultative Reinsurance processing & reconciliation
• Support of Terrorism Pool data capture and reporting
• Support process documentation and training
• Support of day-to-day XIS outsource services for Policy Administration Services (PAS)
• Support of processes engaged by Underwriting Assistants, including review of processing stats

Compliance

• Provide oversight and coordinate key Underwriting (SOx) Controls, including reconciliations
• Incorporate evolving regulatory requirements into processes and reports
• Support report generation such as Solvency II and Ceded Fac RI

On-boarding

• Support addition of new Business Units, Lines, Products, or new joiners

Underwriting Services

• Support for Business Requirements to IT Analysts
• Provision of remote/on-site training for core UW Tools
• Produce & edit training documentation
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing
• Track technology requests and support deployments
• Complete Policy Conversions
• Support project administration and process changes

Data Analytics & Continuous Improvement

• Support Data Quality standards
• Develop root cause analysis for processing issues
• Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements

Training

• Assist with training and onboarding of staff
