Job summary
Syngenta Crop Protection in Huddersfield is seeking a Control & Electrical Engineering Technician to support the site’s safety, reliability and efficiency. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will plan and perform planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance on EC&I equipment using SAP, coordinating with operations and contractors.
You will interpret schematics, maintain records in SAP/CMMS, and contribute to plant improvements while adhering to Safe Systems of Work.
Qualifications
- Apprenticeship in Control/EC&I with hands-on experience.
- Strong knowledge of control, instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Experience using SAP/CMMS and accurate reporting.
- Understanding of Electrical Safety and Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
- Experience in COMAH or similarly regulated environments is valuable.
Responsibilities
- Deliver planned, preventive, routine and breakdown maintenance on EC&I equipment.
- Diagnose faults, calibrate instruments, and implement first-line fixes.
- Interpret schematics and manuals to support testing, maintenance and installation.
- Support reliability and improvement projects with engineers and operations.
- Maintain records in SAP/CMMS and coordinate work safely with contractors.
