Job summary

Rolls-Royce Corporation in Derby (On-site) seeks an EC&I System V&V Engineer to join the verification and validation team for the next-generation reactor control system. You will verify EC&I products, develop test rigs, and work with commissioning teams for deployment on boats.

Role requires degree in a relevant engineering field, strong V&V experience, and proficiency with Excel; Python/MATLAB skills are advantageous for analysis and automation.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electronic, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, Software Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
• Extensive Verification & Validation experience, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
• Strong technical understanding of high-integrity electrical and electronic systems.
• Good knowledge of the product design lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, verification and validation, safety and final acceptance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with experience analysing and interpreting test data.
• Experience with Python, VBA or MATLAB/Simulink would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Generating V&V processes and tools for testing and analysis of test evidence.
• Taking ownership of the verification of one or more EC&I products.
• Reviewing requirements and allocating appropriate verification methods.
• Developing algorithm emulators, test procedures and test scripts.
• Designing, specifying, deploying, operating and maintaining bespoke test rigs and sensor simulators.
• Conducting testing of EC&I equipment and compiling verification evidence and reports.
• Working closely with commissioning teams to support the deployment of equipment onto boats.
