Job summary

Rolls-Royce is recruiting an EC&I System V&V Engineer for our Derby site, delivering verification of nuclear reactor control systems. You will own EC&I product verification, develop test rigs, and generate verification evidence to support deployment on boats.

The role focuses on high-integrity electrical/electronic systems, requirements analysis and V&V tooling. Applicants should have extensive V&V experience, including HIL testing, MATLAB/Simulink or Python, and strong data analysis skills.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Electronic, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, Software Engineering, Physics or related field.
  • Extensive Verification & Validation experience, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
  • Strong technical understanding of high-integrity electrical and electronic systems.
  • Knowledge of product design lifecycle: requirements, design, verification, validation, safety and acceptance.
  • Advanced Excel skills with test data analysis.
  • Experience with Python, VBA or MATLAB/Simulink would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver V&V processes, tools and test artefacts to verify the system.
  • Take ownership of the verification of one or more EC&I products.
  • Review requirements and allocate appropriate verification methods.
  • Develop algorithm emulators, test procedures and test scripts.
  • Design, deploy, operate and maintain bespoke test rigs and sensor simulators.
  • Conduct testing of EC&I equipment and compile verification evidence and reports.
  • Collaborate with commissioning teams to support deployment of equipment onto boats.
