Job summary

Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby is seeking a Nuclear Watchkeeper with Electrical Systems experience to join the EC&I Verification & Validation team. You will verify next‑generation reactor control system components and deploy test artefacts on submarines.

The role emphasizes safety, hands‑on testing, and collaboration with commissioning teams. A ex-submariner with CAT A/B qualifications, strong numeracy and system engineering experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Nuclear Watchkeeper experience with EC&I exposure.
• Experience with electrical/electronic high-integrity systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver verification artefacts for EC&I products and allocate methods.
• Develop test procedures and scripts.
• Create dynamic models and algorithm emulators.
• Verify EC&I system against requirements.
• Validate system using plant knowledge and interpret behaviour.
• Co-ordinate with commissioning teams to deploy equipment on submarines.
