Job summary

Rolls-Royce Derby is seeking an EC&I System V&V Engineer to join the Verification & Validation team in Derby. You will deliver verification strategies, tests and artefacts for the nuclear reactor control system, ensuring safety and performance for Royal Navy deployments.

The role involves owning verification of EC&I products, developing test rigs, working with commissioning teams, and applying high-integrity electronic/system knowledge.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Extensive Verification & Validation experience, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL).
• Strong understanding of high-integrity electrical/electronic systems.
• Knowledge of product design lifecycle from requirements to final acceptance.
• Advanced Excel skills with test data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Deliver V&V processes and tools for testing and analysis of test evidence.
• Take ownership of the verification of one or more EC&I products.
• Review requirements and allocate verification methods.
• Develop algorithm emulators, test procedures and scripts.
• Design, deploy, operate and maintain bespoke test rigs and sensor simulators.
• Conduct testing of EC&I equipment and compile evidence and reports.
• Collaborate with commissioning teams to support deployment onto boats.
