Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking an EC&I Engineer for its Nuclear Facilities in Derby. The role focuses on design oversight for electrical, controls and instrumentation across manufacturing assets, with responsibilities spanning from design through commissioning and handover. A SC clearance is often required, with UK nationality preferred.

You will lead supplier collaborations, ensure outputs meet safety cases, and work on projects within the Nuclear Facility Engineering team at RR Submarines in Derby.

Qualifications

• Experience leading full lifecycle projects from requirements to commissioning.
• Knowledge of safety-related control systems and nuclear safety requirements.
• Experience with programmable industrial controls including SCADA, DCS, and fieldbus networks.

Responsibilities

• Act as Intelligent Customer for Instrumentation & Control aspects of facility design, coordinating RR and partners throughout new facility and upgrade projects.
• Model at facility level the control design following requirements, specs, FAT, SAT and handover documentation.
• Define EC&I functional requirements cascading safety inputs to ensure safety case compliance.
• Perform technical peer reviews of EC&I documents produced by other engineers.
• Read and interpret machinery/electrical drawings and maintenance manuals to meet customer requirements.
