Job summary

EDF Energy is seeking an EC&I Engineer to join the Design Engineering Group at Torness Power Station. This full‑time, site‑based role contributes to safe, reliable, low‑carbon electricity generation for millions of homes.

It combines engineering design with nuclear safety assessment and regulatory justification across station systems, working with multidisciplinary teams. You will support modifications from design through to regulatory compliance, liaising with operations, safety case, and

Qualifications

Requires degree in Electrical/Electronic/Control & Instrumentation Engineering or related discipline.
Experience in design, safety case production, safety assessment, or technical justification.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to communicate complex engineering concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver engineering design solutions for electrical, control and instrumentation systems.
Produce and review Engineering Changes and supporting documentation.
Undertake deterministic safety assessments and technical evaluations for plant modifications.
Contribute to hazard identification and hazard analysis activities.
Develop regulatory justifications and supporting submissions for nuclear safety requirements.
Assess impact of modifications on safety cases and engineering documentation.
Support design reviews, verification activities, and implementation programmes.
Liaise with operations, maintenance, safety case, commissioning and project teams to ensure successful delivery.
