Job summary

EDF Energy is seeking an EC&I Engineer at Torness Power Station to help develop and implement electrical, control and instrumentation modifications. You will contribute to safety case production and regulatory justification, ensuring modifications comply with licence conditions and industry standards.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams and regulators to maintain safe operation of the nuclear site, delivering engineering solutions with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
• Experience in design, safety case production, safety assessment, or technical justification.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to stakeholders.
• Experience authoring or reviewing technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engineering design solutions for electrical, control and instrumentation systems.
• Produce and review Engineering Changes (ECs) and supporting technical documentation.
• Undertake safety assessments and technical evaluations to support plant modifications.
• Contribute to hazard identification and hazard analysis activities.
• Develop regulatory justifications and submissions demonstrating compliance with nuclear safety requirements.
• Assess impact of plant modifications on safety cases and documentation.
• Support design reviews, verification activities, and implementation programmes.
• Liaise with operations, maintenance, safety case, commissioning and project teams.
