Senior Curriculum Lead (maternity cover)

Salary: £42,573

Working pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week) fixed contract

Location: Sparsholt Campus

University Centre Sparsholt (UCS) is a leading provider of higher education in land-based and environmental studies. With a strong reputation for excellence in teaching and student support, we offer an inspiring learning environment that prepares students for careers in vital industries. We are now seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Curriculum Lead to cover a period of maternity absence.

Role overview: As a Senior Curriculum Lead, you will play a pivotal role in the leadership and development of UCS's curriculum, ensuring that it meets quality standards, enhances student experience, and aligns with internal and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with academic and professional staff, as well as UCS management.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with university and external accreditation standards.
  2. Contribute to student recruitment, retention, and progression strategies.
  3. Coordinate academic timetables, exam periods, and exam boards.
  4. Lead on UCS outreach activities.
  5. Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality higher education programmes.
  6. Ensure curriculum aligns with industry needs, regulatory frameworks, and UCS's strategic vision.
  7. Foster excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment, supporting staff development.
  8. The role will require some higher education teaching.
Candidate requirements:
  • A strong academic background, preferably with a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
  • Significant experience in curriculum development and academic leadership in higher education.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., OfS) and internal quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-working skills.
  • A commitment to enhancing student outcomes and employability.
