Job summary

Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd. in Biggleswade is seeking a Workshop Team Leader for the Earthmoving division to lead engineers and apprentices, ensuring safe, efficient day-to-day workshop operations and high-quality service.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will plan workloads, mentor staff, coordinate with customers, and drive continuous improvement while upholding Liebherr standards across UK and overseas training when required.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering discipline (NVQ Level 3 preferred).
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineers, technicians or apprentices.
• Strong knowledge of heavy plant, earthmoving or construction equipment.
• Commitment to safety, quality and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to Workshop Engineers and Apprentices.
• Mentor and coach apprentices; ensure development tasks are completed.
• Support job planning, resource allocation, scheduling, and workflow coordination.
• Assist in preparing service quotations and workshop documentation.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Lead by example to foster a collaborative, high-performing team.
• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support as required.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors on-site as needed.
• Ensure accurate completion of documentation and service records.
• Participate in training programs in the UK and overseas when required.
• Maintain Liebherr quality assurance procedures in workshop processes.
