Job summary

Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and repair earthmoving equipment at customer sites across Kent, the South Coast, West London and Oxford.

You will diagnose faults, perform maintenance and ensure work is completed to the highest quality and on time. The ideal candidate has completed an apprenticeship to NVQ level 3 or equivalent, can demonstrate relevant experience, is a team player, communicates well at all levels and embraces a flexible approach.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of a recognised apprenticeship to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• Able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar role and/or industry.
• Team player with good communication at all levels.
• Flexible approach to work and travel requirements.
• Willingness to maintain safety standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, inspection and repair of earthmoving machinery at customer premises or on site.
• Diagnose faults and take appropriate corrective action.
• Return warranty parts cleaned and labelled, and ensure timely processing.
• Read, understand and file service information and documentation.
• Work in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and recommendations.
• Escalate issues related to damaged equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with depot support teams and assist others as required.
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow safety procedures.
• Complete administration and paperwork accurately and on time as needed.
• Coordinate with customers to understand needs and offer flexible solutions.
• Ensure repair sites are left clean and meet quality standards and customer expectations.

Job description

A vacancy has arisen within our Earth Moving After Sales department based out of Biggleswade for Field Service Engineers covering Kent, South Coast, West London and Oxford. The role contributes to the success of Liebherr‑Great Britain Ltd by carrying out effective maintenance and repair work on equipment out at customer premises or on site, ensuring both quality standards and timelines for repair are optimised at all times leading to increased customer confidence and repeat business whilst working within the Company’s key result areas; Business Performance, Customer Focus, People and Teamwork, Leadership.

Your Responsibilities

• Carrying out, servicing, inspection and repair of earthmoving machinery and equipment at customer premises or on site or if required at the appropriate depot.
• Diagnosing specific fault issues and action appropriately.
• Returning all warranty and other return parts cleaned and on time ensuring correct processes for packing and labelling.
• Ensuring all service information is read, understood and filed.
• Undertaking all work strictly in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and recommendations.
• Escalating the appropriate action in relation to broken or damaged company equipment.
• Developing an effective working relationship with the support team at the depot and can support others where required.
• Maintaining a healthy and safe working environment for self and others through a clear understanding of workplace safety requirements and systems.
• Supporting the roles of others ensuring administration and paperwork is completed effectively and on time as and when required.
• Coordinating with the customer ensuring that customer needs are understood and that a flexible approach is adopted to meeting their needs.
• Working with the customer in mind, making sure that quality work standards are maintained consistently and that post work, the repair site is clean and left in a condition that satisfies the customer.

Your Profile

The successful candidate will require the following:

• Satisfactory completion of a recognised apprenticeship in a related industry to NVQ level 3 or equivalent
• Able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar role and / or industry
• Team player
• Good communicator at all levels
• Flexible approach to work
