Job summary

Mining Remediation Authority in the UK is seeking an Earth Scientist to join the Inland Salinity team on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering a secondment. You'll work to understand and manage environmental risks from rising saline mine water, collaborating with regulators, consultants and other partners across Yorkshire and the Midlands.

You'll interpret hydrogeological and geochemical data, scope technical studies, and manage consultant-led work to provide clear technical advice for

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting hydrogeological, geochemical or environmental data to support decision-making.
• Ability to scope technical investigations and studies addressing environmental risks.
• Experience managing consultants, contractors or technical specialists.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.
• Degree in geoscience, environmental science or related discipline.
