Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Leicester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children during the early stages of their education and helping them develop the skills they need to thrive.

You will work with the class teacher to support learning through play, assist with communication and social development, and help maintain a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children is essential.
• Experience in an Early Years, nursery or primary school setting.
• Understanding of the EYFS would be beneficial.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily learning activities and classroom routines.
• Encourage learning through play-based activities and practical tasks.
• Provide support with communication, social skills and independence.
• Help create a safe, engaging and stimulating Early Years environment.
• Assist children with their emotional and personal development.
• Support small-group activities and individual learning when required.
• Build positive relationships with children, staff and parents.

Location: Leicester Salary: 105 per day

Contract: Monday to Friday, term time only

Start Date: Immediate / ongoing

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children during the early stages of their education and helping them develop the skills they need to thrive.

We are looking for someone who can create a nurturing environment, encourage learning through play and work closely with teaching staff to support children's development.

The Role

• Support the class teacher with daily learning activities and classroom routines
• Encourage children's development through play-based learning and practical activities
• Provide support with communication, social skills and independence
• Help create a safe, engaging and stimulating Early Years environment
• Assist children with their emotional and personal development
• Support small-group activities and individual learning where required
• Build positive relationships with children, staff and parents
• Help maintain a structured and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children is essential
• Experience within an Early Years, nursery or primary school setting
• A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach
• Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) would be beneficial
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to support children's learning and development
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
