Job summary

St Edward's Church of England (Voluntary Aided) Primary School in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to support Nursery and Reception learners. The role is permanent, term-time only with INSET days, working 32.5 hours per week (8:30am-3:30pm, 30 minutes lunch).

HLTA consideration possible for exceptional candidates with substantial EY experience. The successful applicant will contribute to high-quality early years provision, promote language and literacy

Qualifications

• Successful experience of working within an Early Years setting.
• Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Commitment to inclusive practice and safeguarding.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexible and able to work across Nursery and Reception.

Responsibilities

• Support high-quality learning through purposeful play, direct teaching and excellent adult interactions
• Promote communication and language, modelling rich vocabulary and engaging children in meaningful conversations
• Support early reading, phonics, mathematics and children's wider development
• Promote children's independence, relationships, resilience and self-regulation
• Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families
