Job summary

Stephenson Way Academy & Nursery School is seeking a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work 8.30am–3.30pm, Monday to Friday during term time, initially in KS2.

The role involves short-term cover, planning and delivering learning activities, and assessing pupil progress under the direction of a teacher. Experience with SEND and delivering interventions is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified HLTA with relevant experience.
• Experience of supporting teaching and learning in the classroom.
• Ability to plan, prepare and deliver learning activities and assess pupil progress.
• Strong classroom practice and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term cover or class delivery in planned or unplanned non-timetabled situations including PPA cover.
• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals, groups or whole classes as directed by a teacher.
• Record and report on pupil progress under guidance from teaching staff.
• Deliver well-structured interventions to support individual pupils or groups.
• Communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and parents where appropriate.
• Use ICT competently in classroom practice and for professional tasks.

Stephenson Way Academy & Nursery School are seeking to appoint a qualified Higher LevelTeaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be available to workfrom 8.30am until 3.30pm - Monday to Friday during term time. The post will commenceduring autumn term and will be working initially in KS2.

The successful candidate will:

• Be able to provide short-term cover or classes in planned or in unexpected nontimetabled situations including PPA cover
• The ability to plan, prepare and deliver learning activities with individual pupils,groups and (in the short term) whole classes, and assess, record and report on pupil’sprogress under the direction of a Teacher.
• Have experience of supporting teaching and learning in the classroom.
• Demonstrate the highest standards of classroom practice.
• Be responsive, flexible and sensitive to the differing needs of pupils including thosewith SEND.
• Have experience of delivering well-structured interventions.
• Communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
• Use ICT competently both in classroom practice and for own professional work.
• Build and sustain effective working relationships with all members of the schoolcommunity.
