Job summary

NCEA Bishop's Primary School in Ashington invites an enthusiastic Early Years Teacher to join our caring team. This role is a 1-year fixed-term contract (1.0 FTE) and requires a strong EYFS understanding and commitment to inclusive teaching.

Qualifications

  • Energetic and nurturing EYFS practitioner.
  • Strong understanding of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and inclusive practice.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver broad, balanced EYFS curriculum in line with school policies and national directives.
  • Monitor and support progress for EYFS pupils and designated groups.
  • Prepare and implement support plans for individual pupils.
  • Collaborate with EYFS team to review curriculum, teaching methods and assessment.
  • Support safeguarding duties and contribute to school safeguarding culture.
  • Develop and support the EYFS team, including Nursery, with the Director of Early Years.

Bishop’s Primary School is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, nurturing and motivated Early Years Teacher to join our dedicated and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about providing children with the very best start to their learning journey.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and a commitment to creating a stimulating, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every child feels valued, supported and able to thrive. You will be passionate about developing children’s curiosity, confidence and independence, and skilled in building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

You will be joining a welcoming and collaborative team that is committed to achieving the best outcomes for our pupils. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, creative and reflective in their practice, and who will contribute positively to the wider life of our school.

Main Roles and Responsibilities
  • Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and inspiring curriculum for pupils, incorporating the areas of learning for Early Years Foundation Stage in line with the policies of the school and national directives.
  • Facilitate, support and monitor the overall progress and development of EYFS pupils and designated groups of pupils.
  • Prepare and implement support plans for individual pupils.
  • Share in the development and review of the EYFS curriculum, teaching materials, methods of teaching and assessment in collaboration with the wider EYFS team i.e Headteacher and The Director of Early Years.
  • Support and contribute to the school’s responsibility for safeguarding children.
  • Supporting and developing the EYFS team, including Nursery, in partnership with the Director of Early Years.
