Job summary

Short Heath Federation is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant (Term Time Only) to join Lane Head Nursery School. This role offers 32.5 hours per week with pro-rata salary scales for term time. The post supports early years development within the EYFS framework, including work with children with additional needs and collaboration with families and SENCo.

The position starts January 2027, with a closing date of 5 November 2026 and DBS checks as part of pre-employment clearances.

Qualifications

Experience with observing and assessing children’s learning.
Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Experience supporting children with additional needs.
Ability to work with the SENCo and external agencies.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate high-quality interactions that support children's learning and development.
Lead by example, modelling excellent early years practice.
Build positive, nurturing relationships with children and their families.
Support children with identified high needs, adapting provision for inclusive inclusion.
Work with the SENCo, families and external professionals to implement progress strategies.
Remain calm, organised and solution-focused in a busy nursery environment.
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
Champion inclusion and ensure every child feels valued and able to succeed.
