Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking enthusiastic staff to support learning and development of young children in our Early Learning and Childcare settings. The role operates 20 hours per week during term time (39 weeks per year) with shifts between 8am–6pm.

Applicants must register with the SSSC as a support worker and hold or be willing to obtain the listed qualifications. PVG checks are required prior to offer, and overseas checks may apply for non-UK applicants.

Qualifications

• Must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a support worker.
• Qualifications listed above or willingness to obtain one of them.
• Support will be provided to candidates who do not hold a relevant qualification.
• PVG Scheme or PVG Scheme Update check required before formal offer; overseas checks may apply.

Responsibilities

• Support the learning and development of young children in Early Learning and Childcare.
• Work as an effective member of the Early Learning and Childcare Team to deliver high quality service.
• Assist with recruitment checks and ensure safeguarding and welfare of children.
