Job summary

West Lothian Council’s St. Mary's Primary School in Bathgate is seeking an Advanced Pupil Support Worker to provide 1:1 support with a learner, Monday to Thursday, during term-time 39 weeks per year.

Applicants must register with the SSSC within six months of starting; PVG scheme checks are required before a formal offer. The role forms part of the nursery team with a fixed-term contract until 11 April 2027. Interviews are on 25 August 2026.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with SSSC.
• PVG Scheme clearance required or to be joined prior to offer.
• PVG update check may be required before a formal offer.
• Applicants must submit within three months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support with one learner (Mon–Thu).
• Work as part of a forward-thinking nursery team.
• Bring knowledge of child development and additional support needs.
