Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking enthusiastic staff to support learning and development of young children in Early Learning and Childcare settings. You will contribute to a positive ethos and deliver high‑quality services to children, families and staff.

The post requires SSSC registration as a support worker and a relevant qualification, or the willingness to obtain one. Roles involve flexible, 52‑week year working patterns and a 35‑hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a professional capacity.
• Ability to communicate with children, parents and team members.
• Experience working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support the learning and development of young children within Early Learning and Childcare establishments.
• Register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a support worker and hold or obtain a relevant qualification.
• Assist recruitment checks when required and ensure timely completion.

NC in Early Education and Childcare (SCQF Level 6)

SVQ 2 Social Services (Children & Young People) (SCQF Level 6)

SVQ 2 Children's Care Learning and Development (SCQF Level 2)
