Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Reception child at a mainstream primary in Merstham from 7th September 2026. The role starts with half-days during a transition period and requires vigilant support for a non-verbal child with Autism and Global Developmental Delay.
Experience with Intensive Interaction, supporting non-verbal children, and managing sensory/communication needs is essential.
We are looking for an experienced 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child starting Reception from Monday, 7th September. The child will initially be on a reduced timetable, so the role will begin as half-days during the transition period.
The child has Autism and Global Developmental Delay and is non-verbal. He also has a tendency to put objects in his mouth, so the successful candidate will need to be highly vigilant and proactive in maintaining his safety.
This would suit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting children with complex communication and developmental needs and can provide calm, consistent and attentive 1:1 support.
Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
