Job summary

Pike Fold Community Primary School is seeking a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to support SEN pupils across the school, with a focus on Early Years. The role is fixed term, full-time (35 hours per week) starting ASAP.

The candidate should have GCSE English and Maths, numeracy and literacy skills, and be able to work as part of a team, using basic classroom technology and applying the national curriculum. The post includes safeguarding duties, enhanced DBS checks, and a commitment to professional

Qualifications

• Experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age.
• Numeracy and literacy skills, level equivalent to NQF Level 2.
• Completion of the Teaching Assistant Induction Programme.
• Ability to relate well to children and adults.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Understanding of the role of the TA and other professionals in the classroom.
• Ability to use basic office technology such as a photocopier.
• Understanding of the national/foundation stage curriculum and learning programmes.
• Basic understanding of child development and learning.
• Willingness to undertake minor first aid training as appropriate.
• Tact and diplomacy in all interpersonal relationships.
• Self-motivation and drive to meet timescales and standards.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing workload.
• Commitment to meet diverse pupil needs.
