Job summary

Education First Recruitment is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Croydon. The role covers EYFS to KS2, with 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN and additional learning needs.

You will assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and support literacy, numeracy and the wider curriculum. The role is long-term and community-focused, with opportunities across London and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a primary school, SEN, nursery or similar setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs and challenging behaviour.
• Patient, caring and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 within the classroom and wider school environment.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN and additional learning needs.
• Assisting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons and learning activities.
• Supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum development.
• Building positive relationships to encourage confidence and participation.
• Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and challenging behaviour where required.
• Helping pupils develop social skills, independence and emotional well-being.
• Aiding classroom behaviour management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Working with teachers to adapt activities to pupil needs.
