Job summary

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking a Sector Support and Development Consultant to join the Early Years and Childcare Support Team in Lincoln with travel around the county. The role focuses on safeguarding, EYFS delivery, and improving outcomes for young children through training, audits, and partnership working across Lincolnshire.

The post requires a degree or equivalent experience, Level 3 childcare qualification, and strong safeguarding knowledge.

Qualifications

• A degree, or equivalent experience, to work at degree level.
• Level 3 (or above) childcare qualification and experience leading teams.
• Extensive knowledge of the 0 to 11 age range and EYFS legislation.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection understanding.
• Understanding of the Early Years Ofsted Inspection Toolkit.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage changing priorities.
• Ability to train, support, and build relationships with childcare providers.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to travel.

Responsibilities

• Support settings to meet statutory requirements, focusing on safeguarding and child protection.
• Promote a culture of vigilance to keep children safe.
• Support settings to navigate and understand the Early Years Ofsted Inspection Toolkit.
• Deliver training to providers across the sector.
• Complete audits, quality reviews and improvement work.
• Collaborate with the Early Years and Childcare Support Team and other partners.
• Build positive relationships to support sector-led improvement.
• Contribute to improved educational outcomes for children across Lincolnshire.
