Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an Early Years SEND Inclusion Advisor to join the Early Years, Inclusion and Childcare Service at County Hall. You will work with children birth to school entry, supporting provision in mainstream settings and collaborating with health and social care partners.

Applicants should hold a Level 6 Early Years qualification with SEND development, have extensive experience with 0‑5s, and be able to travel to multiple venues.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, listening and relationship‑building skills.
• Significant experience supporting children aged 0‑5 with SEND and working with families and multi‑agency professionals.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Able to travel to appointments and a range of venues as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, guidance and support to parents and the childcare sector in meeting the special educational needs of early years children.
• Support the childcare sector to develop high quality provision.
• Embed the principles of the EYFS.
• Enable providers to embed the principles of SEND code of practice into their practice.
• Ensure providers implement Safeguarding, Welfare, Learning and Development requirements as defined in EYFS duties.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to improve outcomes for children with SEND.
• Occasional work outside normal hours; may travel to various locations.
