Job summary

Lincolnshire County Council is recruiting a Sector Support and Development Consultant to work across Lincolnshire, with travel as needed, on a 3-year fixed term. The role focuses on safeguarding, EYFS compliance, training delivery and sector improvement.

The post requires a degree or equivalent, Level 3 childcare qualification, strong knowledge of EYFS, and a valid UK driving licence for regular travel around Lincolnshire. Hybrid working arrangements apply.

Qualifications

  • A degree, or equivalent experience and capability to work at degree level.
  • A Level 3 (or above) childcare qualification with leadership experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the 0 to 11 age range, EYFS, and Childcare Register.
  • Strong safeguarding and child protection understanding.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Ofsted Inspection Toolkit.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Experience delivering professional training to providers.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in childcare settings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with partners.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for Lincolnshire travel.

Responsibilities

  • Support settings to meet statutory requirements focusing on safeguarding.
  • Promote vigilance to keep children safe.
  • Help settings understand the EYFS toolkit and inspections.
  • Deliver training to providers across the sector.
  • Conduct audits and quality reviews with early years settings.
  • Collaborate with the Early Years and Childcare Support Team and partners.
  • Build relationships to support sector-led improvement.
  • Contribute to improved outcomes for children and families.
