Job summary

YMCA Fairthorne Group is seeking an Early Years Practitioner to join Fairthorne Manor Nursery in Southampton. You will help children learn, grow and thrive through play-based learning, supporting developing independence and social skills in a welcoming environment.

The role welcomes Level 2 or Level 3 practitioners, those studying towards an Early Years qualification, or career changers with relevant transferable experience, offering flexible hours and training pathways.

Qualifications

• Qualified Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years Practitioner
• Experience in education, SEND, youth work, healthcare, coaching, community services or care
• Willing to follow the EYFS framework and complete observations and records
• Caring, dependable and committed to helping children grow

Responsibilities

• Build warm and secure relationships with children
• Help every child feel that they belong
• Support children’s confidence, independence and emotional development
• Create engaging learning opportunities through play
• Observe development and use insights to enable next steps
• Work closely with colleagues and share good practice
• Maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive nursery environment
• Keep children safe through safeguarding and Early Years practice
