Job summary

Bright Horizons Greenwich Day Nursery and Preschool is seeking an Early Years Kitchen Assistant in Greenwich, London. This part-time role (10:30-14:30, Tue-Thu) involves assisting the Chef with preparing meals for children while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and minimizing waste.

You will manage dietary requirements, communicate them clearly to staff, and cover the kitchen in the Chef's absence. DBS checks are required prior to appointment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a cooking role in a domestic or commercial setting.
• Passion for nutrition and encouraging healthy eating.
• Ability to manage different dietary requirements and allergies.
• Food Safety qualification (CIEH L2 or higher) to be completed on day 1 in post.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef with preparation and cooking of age-appropriate meals, minimizing waste.
• In the Chef's absence, run the kitchen and oversee daily operations.
• Ensure dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to teams.
