Job summary

Lift Schools is seeking a Nursery Lead Practitioner / HLTA to join Pebbles Nursery, part of Lift Barton Hill, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for 2- and 3-year-olds. The role supports the Nursery Teacher and EYFS Lead in delivering outstanding early years provision.

You will lead a small team, plan and teach engaging activities, coach Teaching Assistants, and develop targeted interventions while maintaining the highest standards of care, safeguarding and professional practice.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in an Early Years setting.
• Full and relevant Level 3 EY qualification or HLTA status (or equivalent).
• Strong leadership, communication, empathy and patience are required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach engaging lessons accessible to all learners.
• Guide and support Teaching Assistants with feedback and coaching.
• Create and deliver intervention strategies for students needing extra support.
• Build positive relationships to foster independent learning skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and pastoral staff on each child's progress.

Job description

Are you a nursery lead practitioner or HLTA wanting to play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of a lovely nursery, supported by the Nursery Teacher and EYFS Lead to deliver outstanding early years provision? We are looking for someone to join us 36.25hrs per week.

Lift Barton Hill is a lovely primary school that have been graded as 'Good' by Ofstedwith an 'Outstanding' Early Years and aim for every child to have a happy and active primary education in an environment that is caring and supporting.We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Nursery Lead Practitioner / Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated early years team at Pebbles Nursery. Pebbles is apurpose-built nursery providing a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive environment for 2 and 3-year-old children. We currently accommodate up to 15 two-year-olds and 16 three-year-olds, with exciting opportunities for future expansion. Our experienced team includes skilled nursery practitioners, a qualified Nursery Teacher and an EYFS Lead, all working collaboratively to ensure every child receives the very best start to their learning journey.

About the role

You will lead the team in creating a safe, engaging and inspiring learning environment where every child can thrive, ensuring that high standards of care, education and safeguarding are maintained at all times.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and teach lessons that are engaging and accessible to all students
• Guide and support Teaching Assistants, helping them grow through feedback and coaching
• Create and deliver intervention strategies for students who need extra support
• Build positive relationships with students and help them develop independent learning skills
• Work with teachers, parents, and pastoral staff to support each child's progress
• Help organise learning spaces and resources that meet the needs of all learners

We are looking for someone who

You'll have substantial experience working within an Early Years setting and hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or HLTA status (or equivalent). We are looking for somebody who has strong leadership skills and can inspire and support a team whilst working collaboratively. We're looking for someone with strong communication skills, empathy, and patience. Please note if you don't holds a current Paediatric First Aid qualification that's fine but you will need toobtain one immediately upon appointment.
