Job summary

Lift Schools seeks a Nursery Lead Practitioner / HLTA to join Pebbles Nursery, supporting the Nursery Teacher and EYFS Lead in day-to-day leadership. You will lead an inspiring early years environment for 2- and 3-year-olds, with a focus on high standards of care, education and safeguarding.

You will guide assistants, implement interventions, and work closely with parents and staff to ensure every child makes strong progress in a nurturing setting.

Are you a nursery lead practitioner or HLTA wanting to play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of a lovely nursery, supported by the Nursery Teacher and EYFS Lead to deliver outstanding early years provision?

Your new schoolLift Barton Hill is a lovely primary school that have been graded as 'Good' by Ofsted with an 'Outstanding' Early Years and aim for every child to have a happy and active primary education in an environment that is caring and supporting. We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Nursery Lead Practitioner / Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated early years team at Pebbles Nursery. Pebbles is a purpose-built nursery providing a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive environment for 2 and 3-year-old children. We currently accommodate up to 15 two-year-olds and 16 three-year-olds, with exciting opportunities for future expansion. Our experienced team includes skilled nursery practitioners, a qualified Nursery Teacher and an EYFS Lead, all working collaboratively to ensure every child receives the very best start to their learning journey.

About the role

You will lead the team in creating a safe, engaging and inspiring learning environment where every child can thrive, ensuring that high standards of care, education and safeguarding are maintained at all times.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and teach lessons that are engaging and accessible to all students
• Guide and support Teaching Assistants, helping them grow through feedback and coaching
• Create and deliver intervention strategies for students who need extra support
• Build positive relationships with students and help them develop independent learning skills
• Work with teachers, parents, and pastoral staff to support each child's progress

We are looking for someone who

You'll have substantial experience working within an Early Years setting and hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or HLTA status (or equivalent). We are looking for somebody who has strong leadership skills and can inspire and support a team whilst working collaboratively. We're looking for someone with strong communication skills, empathy, and patience. Please note if you don't holds a current Paediatric First Aid qualification that's fine but you will need to obtain one immediately upon appointment.
