Job summary

Cherubs Nurseries Ilkeston is seeking a Qualified Early Years Educator to join our family-run team. We offer 30 hours+ per week, a nurturing environment and opportunities to grow within the Cherubs Nurseries group, with a focus on EYFS, safeguarding, and engaging activities for children.

You will work as part of a friendly childcare team, delivering high-quality care and education for our children and families, and taking part in training, events, and internal progression pathways.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Early Years Educator qualification.
• Experience with the EYFS and safeguarding practices.
• Able to build positive relationships with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality early years education and care.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in line with safeguarding policies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver activities for children's development.
• Engage with parents and carers, providing warm handovers and updates on progress.
• Attend training and contribute to internal progression pathways.

Cherubs Ilkeston is a brand new, modern 72-place nursery. It has a rapidly developing team (due to only opening in September 2024) so there are plenty of opportunities for career progression. What You'll Be Doing

• Work as part of the Childcare Team to provide an amazing service, for both our children and families.
• Ensure the children's environment and your nursery is kept safe, secure and clean at all times ensuring safeguarding policies are adhered to.
• Be a role model for the children at all times, whilst demonstrating best practice to your colleagues.
• Give parents and carers a warm welcome and concise handover at the end of the day.
• Complete Nursery In A Box for all your key children, ensuring you meet targets and provide detailed and relevant accounts for each child, underpinned by the EYFS.
• Take pride in your room and nursery, ensuring it is presented well with organised resources, engaging displays with an inviting layout.
• Attend both in-house and external training, as required. Some of this may be outside of working hours, for example on a weekend.
• Assist in the thorough planning and successful delivery of a variety of activities (both indoor and outdoor) to maintain the children's interests and to ensure the development of all children in-line with their own needs.
• Attend all staff events including parents evening, staff meetings and summer fairs, some of these may be out of hours and on weekends.

All roles require: the right to work in the United Kingdom, the completion of a "Keeping Children Safe" Form, a DBS and at least 2 satisfactory employment references.
