Job summary

Cherubs Nurseries in Mansfield is seeking a dedicated Early Years Educator for a maternity cover contract. Join a caring team to deliver high-quality early years education and create a warm, engaging environment for children.

The role supports safeguarding, EYFS planning, and close collaboration with families. Hours are 30-40 per week; you’ll participate in training and events and help nurture curious minds every day.

Qualifications

• Qualified Early Years Educator with EYFS knowledge.
• Experience in an early years setting preferred.
• Commitment to safeguarding policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Childcare Team to provide an amazing service for children and families.
• Ensure the environment is safe, secure and clean in line with safeguarding policies.
• Be a positive role model and lead by example for colleagues and children.
• Greet parents and provide a concise handover at the end of the day.
• Complete Nursery In A Box for key children with accurate records under EYFS guidance.
• Maintain a well-presented room with organized resources and displays.

About our Nursery:

Cherubs Kimberley is a modern, lively and well-laid out nursery with varied age groups and rooms. Overall, the nursery provides early years care and education for up to 135-children every day. The nursery is well-placed with good bus and road links and local amenities (within walking distance) such as supermarkets and food outlets.

What you'll be doing

• Work as part of the Childcare Team to provide an amazing service, for both our children and families.
• Ensure the children's environment and your nursery is kept safe, secure and clean at all times ensuring safeguarding policies are adhered to.
• Be a role model for the children at all times, whilst demonstrating best practice to your colleagues.
• Give parents and carers a warm welcome and concise handover at the end of the day.
• Complete Nursery In A Box for all your key children, ensuring you meet targets and provide detailed and relevant accounts for each child, underpinned by the EYFS.
• Take pride in your room and nursery, ensuring it is presented well with organised resources, engaging displays with an inviting layout.
• Attend both in-house and external training, as required. Some of this may be outside of working hours, for example on a weekend.
• Assist in the thorough planning and successful delivery of a variety of activities (both indoor and outdoor) to maintain the children's interests and to ensure the development of all children in-line with their own needs.
• Attend all staff events including parents evening, staff meetings and summer fairs, some of these may be out of hours and on weekends.
