Job summary

Durham County Council Wingate Nursery School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support a group of 2-year-old children, contribute to journals, and help create reflective environments indoors and outdoors.

We require experience with children aged 2-4 years, and an Early Years qualification meeting the approved criteria, plus an enhanced DBS disclosure. The role is full-time, temporary until 31 August 2027, with ongoing in-house training.

Qualifications

• Experience with children aged 2–4 years.
• Qualification meeting the approved ‘full and relevant’ criteria for Early Years staffing ratios.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for a small group of 2-year-old children and contribute to journals.
• Work with the team to create reflective, provocative environments indoors and outdoors.
• Support safeguarding and promote welfare of children.
