Job summary

Durham County Council Wingate Nursery School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support a group of 2-year-old children, contribute to journals, and help create reflective environments indoors and outdoors.

We require experience with children aged 2-4 years, and an Early Years qualification meeting the approved criteria, plus an enhanced DBS disclosure. The role is full-time, temporary until 31 August 2027, with ongoing in-house training.

Job description

Temporary Contract until 31st August 2027 – with the probability of it being renewed annually

Full Time – 37 hours per week – 8am – 4pm (with additional time each week to be utilised at the end of the day, to manage duties and responsibilities – paid)

Required to start as soon as possible.

The position is for a key person to take responsibility for a small group of 2-year-old children – contributing to their journals etc.

The role is also about working together to create beautiful, reflective and provocative environments, indoors and outdoors.

Applicants must be experienced, working with children aged 2-4 yrs.

Applicants must hold a qualification that meets the approved ‘full and relevant’ criteria for Early Years qualifications and inclusion in staffing ratios.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
