Job summary

Amey Consulting in Gloucester is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to join the Highways & Transportation team on a permanent basis. The role covers from design development to delivery, with responsibilities including design checks, feasibility studies, inspections and ensuring safe, compliant solutions.

The role offers a 40-hour week with flexible, hybrid working options and a supportive development path for graduates and early-career engineers.

Qualifications

• Graduate engineer with civil engineering background.
• Knowledge of highways design processes and procedures.
• Ability to produce technically sound engineering solutions with minimal supervision.
• Experience with health, safety and welfare procedures (CDM).
• Understanding of different project interfaces and deliverables.
• Familiarity with relevant software and analytical tools.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team producing technically sound engineering solutions.
• Support management and delivery of projects from start to finish: design development, inspections, feasibility and technical reports.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and scheme deliverables.
• Support health and safety practices within the team.
