Job summary

Joshua Robert Search is seeking an early-career Building Control professional to develop skills within a supportive team delivering services across a major West Midlands city. You will gain practical experience across domestic, residential and commercial projects, with supervision and guidance as your competence grows.

You will review plans, assist with inspections, respond to queries, and build knowledge of Building Regulations and professional standards while progressing towards registration.

Qualifications

• Some relevant Building Control experience or a qualification in Building Surveying, construction or related discipline.
• Basic understanding of Building Regulations and interest in developing technical knowledge.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn from colleagues and work towards qualifications and registration.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing plans and assessing compliance with Building Regulations.
• Support site inspections and learn to identify and resolve compliance issues.
• Help respond to queries from homeowners, designers and contractors.
• Maintain accurate project records, inspection notes and correspondence.
• Support experienced colleagues in progressing applications through to completion.
• Build your understanding of relevant legislation, technical guidance and professional standards.
• Take part in training and ongoing professional development.
