Job summary

Monarch Education is seeking an EAL Teaching Assistant for a Bolton secondary school. You will support pupils who speak English as an Additional Language, helping them access the curriculum and develop language skills in a caring environment.

You will collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff, providing targeted support to promote inclusion and confidence in learning. This role offers flexibility across full-time, part-time, supply, and long-term opportunities in Bolton.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or similar needs.
• Patience, resilience and a calm, nurturing approach.
• Experience with EAL learners is desirable or essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for EAL pupils.
• Help develop English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure curriculum access and learning goals.
• Adapt resources to meet individual EAL needs and promote inclusion.
• Monitor pupil progress and report to staff.
