Job summary

Prospere Learning Trust’s Chorlton High School is recruiting a Teaching Assistant Level 3 with a dedicated EAL focus. The role supports pupils to access the curriculum, develop academic English, and overcome language barriers within an inclusive learning environment.

You will work with individuals, small groups and occasionally whole classes, coordinating with teachers to plan, deliver and adapt EAL activities, while maintaining records and contributing to assessments and safeguarding

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting pupils with EAL in a secondary school or similar setting.
• Strong understanding of language acquisition and barriers faced by EAL learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted EAL support programmes for individuals and small groups.
• Support pupils' development of spoken and written English, including vocabulary and academic language.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to assessments and reports.
• Provide guidance to staff on effective EAL strategies and inclusive practice.
• Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies as appropriate.
