A Little More About Your Role…

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and delivering some of the most challenging and rewarding projects within the WSP Energy Transition business. We are delivering some of the world’s most important projects to support the Net Zero transition, and the Major Projects team leads those projects at all stages of the project lifecycle, from early client engagement to delivery and handover, helping to build long-term client relationships.

The ability to manage a portfolio of projects and activities at any stage is a key aspect of the role. This allows our project managers to grow while delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients alongside our engineering and operational teams.

Core Activities Will Include

• Acting as Project Manager on high-profile projects within our portfolio and providing leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
• Engaging proactively with clients and delivery partners to promote efficient approaches and progress.
• Ensuring project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and KPIs related to safety, CSR, quality, cost, and schedule.
• Supporting the delivery of operational targets and the Energy Transition team’s P&L.
• Delivering projects in accordance with corporate governance, liaising with operations and commercial teams to ensure best practices.
• Securing competent technical and commercial resources for projects.

Your Team

Our team’s expertise covers all Energy Transition generation and conversion technologies, including innovative and first-of-a-kind concepts and other low or zero carbon technologies. We work with private developers, power utilities, government bodies, banks, lenders, contractors, and OEMs to deliver projects safely while exceeding client expectations.

Our teams are based in the UK, India, Ireland, and wider Europe, working internationally with clients and Energy sector teams across North America, Middle East, Africa, South America, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia.

The Energy Transition team provides services from project inception through development, construction, operation, and decommissioning, supporting clients throughout the entire lifecycle.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…

• A degree in a relevant Engineering subject, supported by significant postgraduate experience in engineering project management, design, operation, maintenance, or testing.
• Chartered Engineer and member of a relevant Engineering Institute.
• Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary consultancy teams in the conventional and renewable energy sectors.
• Outstanding client focus and collaborative problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of power and energy project design and construction.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels.
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities and find win-win solutions.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required.
