Job description

In today's rapidly evolving energy landscape, gas-fired power generation plays a crucial role in ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy mix. As we transition towards cleaner energy sources, natural gas stands out for its ability to provide consistent power supply, complementing renewable energy sources like wind and solar. Its flexibility and efficiency make it indispensable in meeting peak demand and maintaining grid stability. By joining our team, you'll be at the forefront of this vital sector, contributing to a balanced and resilient energy future.

We are looking for a leader who possesses a blend of strong technical expertise, strategic vision, and interpersonal skills, with leadership experience, who can lead the project team responsible for the delivery of long-term maintenance agreements at customer power plants in the UK and Ireland. This includes overseeing projects involving the world’s most powerful and efficient gas turbine, the 9000HL at SSE’s Keadby power station.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  1. You will lead the Major Project Management Team, promoting Siemens Energy Leadership Essentials to cultivate a culture of excellence and empowerment.
  2. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and successful project delivery.
  3. Drive the strategic and cultural transformation of the team, creating an inclusive environment that values employee satisfaction and safety.
  4. Oversee recruitment, training, and development initiatives, ensuring team members are equipped with globally recognized qualifications.
  5. Monitor project status, identify risks, and implement solutions to meet contract obligations while achieving financial objectives.
What You Bring
  1. You hold a degree in engineering or a commercial field, complemented by a recognized formal Project Management Qualification (e.g., APMP, PRINCE2).
  2. With a minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering service company, you have a strong background in project management, particularly in hardware supply or service contracts.
  3. Your knowledge of the power generation market and large rotating equipment is a significant advantage.
  4. You possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit, driving high performance within your team.
  5. Flexibility and self-motivation are key attributes that enable you to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment.
