Job Description

Fairmont St Andrews offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced pool specialist, knowledgeable about pool systems, seeking to advance their career in the hospitality industry.

The Spa Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing minor pool plant equipment and providing general maintenance of the pool plant facility. This role involves collaboration between the Fairmont Spa and the Engineering Department.

About the role:

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of spa pools and facilities. Water treatment and hygiene tasks may also be required within the hotel.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the pool plant facility to ensure all systems and equipment are operational.
  • Work closely with the Spa Leisure and Resort’s Engineering teams to ensure water testing and treatment are completed following NOP and ERP guidelines.
  • Serve as a key contact for the Spa Manager, Director of Facilities, and external engineers to uphold health and safety standards.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance according to safety protocols and scheduled servicing.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance and testing activities.
  • Manage inventory of chemicals, PPE, and cleaning supplies in compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Monitor and service amenities such as sauna, steam room, and shower, reporting faults to the Duty Engineer.
  • Provide emergency support, troubleshooting, and problem-solving for spa facilities.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of maintenance experience, preferably in a health club, spa, or hospitality environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, good prioritization, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across multiple departments.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
