We are seeking a Deputy Headteacher to join our established team and build on our success as a thriving school. Lancaster currently has 130 students and is expanding, with a building project aiming to increase the roll to 160 by September 2026.
The ideal candidate will have enthusiasm, passion, and commitment, and be an outstanding teacher experienced with children who have severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties. They should be ambitious for the school and themselves, possess successful leadership experience, inspire others, lead by example, and handle organisational and strategic responsibilities.

Lancaster School is an Academy special school for up to 100 students aged 14-19 with complex needs, including severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), neurological impairments, physical and medical difficulties, and additional social and emotional support needs before transferring to local colleges at post-19.
Part of the SEN Trust Southend, Lancaster School collaborates with three other special schools to meet the needs of pupils requiring specialist support. The Multi-Academy Trust was established to support this work.
