We are currently recruiting External Assessors to carry out and document quality assurance activities in line with City & Guilds and regulatory arrangements.

As an External Assessor, you will be required to assess and document learner competence against qualification standards, using the stated assessment methods.

Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Assessing and documenting learner competence at centres or remotely

Applicants must meet the essential criteria:

  • Hold one of the current assessor qualifications, for example, Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence on the Work Environment or the A1 Assessors Award or D32/33 units or a practice assessment/educator qualification recognised by Social Care Wales.
  • Hold a social work qualification recognised by Social Care Wales, with experience gained working in a regulated environment relevant to social care.
  • Experience gained working with the Social Services Practitioner qualifications (desirable)
  • Be occupationally competent and maintain occupational competence through clearly demonstrable continuing learning and professional development.
  • Assessments can be carried out remotely so applicants can be based anywhere in the UK.
  • Although not essential, the ability to speak, read and understand written Welsh would be advantageous.

Training for the role will be provided following the successful review and vetting of your application.

External Assessors are contracted on an annual basis and are not directly employed by the City & Guilds Group, making it an ideal opportunity to become an External Assessor in addition to your current role.
