Job description

To strengthen our IT team, we are looking for an experienced IT Security Engineer, who will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing IT and network security, resolving problematic issues, and planning and implementing M365 security features. You will join a fast-paced team operating in an international environment.

The position of IT Security Engineer is a full-time role based at our office in Manchester.

Tasks & Responsibilities

1. Maintaining and optimizing IT, network security, and backup systems based on service requirements
2. Planning, installing, and managing M365 security features
3. Collaborating with development teams to optimize system implementation according to service needs
4. Investigating issues to identify root causes and providing effective solutions
5. Managing network components such as firewalls, routers, and switches
6. Providing support and solutions to IT users (L2/L3 support)
7. Performing basic tasks on Linux servers, including application deployment and configuration management

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science with 3+ years of professional experience
• Experience in installing, managing, and troubleshooting security solutions
• Strong knowledge of IT security, incident investigation, vulnerability patching, and backup management
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 security features, including Defender suite, Intune, and conditional access
• Experience with ticketing systems (L2/L3) and troubleshooting operational issues within overall system context
• Experience with open-source applications such as databases, application servers, load balancers, and proxies
• Recognized IT security certifications are a plus
• Excellent written and spoken English skills
• Ability to work independently and proactively
