Job Description:
For one of our globally leading tech clients, we are urgently looking for an experienced Senior Application Support Engineer for a permanent role based in Manchester, UK.

Job purpose:
- Provide 3rd line application support, managing incidents and escalations through to resolution.
- Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, internal teams, and third-party support teams.
- Ensure resolution of incidents according to agreed SLAs.
- Apply problem-solving skills to recreate, debug, identify, and resolve issues.
- Perform root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence.
- Participate in the on-call rota for out-of-hours critical incidents.
- Provide proactive support and maintenance across the application landscape.
- Create, review, and maintain support documentation for deploying and configuring applications.
- Monitor and deploy application updates and patches.
- Develop understanding of systems within the application landscape.
- Support internal projects with technical design reviews and environment builds/deployments.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including data protection, equal opportunities, acceptable usage, and safety regulations.
Skills:
- Experience managing Windows Server, IIS, and Active Directory Services.
- Azure AD experience is beneficial.
- Azure IaaS/PaaS experience is beneficial.
- Knowledge of T-SQL (MS SQL) and/or PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of minor programming or scripting (.NET / PowerShell).
- Experience using IT Service Management tools (e.g., SCSM, ServiceNow).
- At least 2 years of experience within an IT department.
- Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial.
- Understanding of IT service management processes (e.g., ITIL) is beneficial.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (2012AX or 365) is beneficial.
- Experience with Office365 administration is beneficial.
- Experience with software deployment systems (e.g., Octopus Deploy) is beneficial.
