Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location: Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire

Main Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team of site maintenance engineers. The successful candidate will support the Senior Maintenance Engineer in delivering a variety of maintenance tasks with an electrical bias, focusing on ensuring the smooth operation of key electrical systems and equipment across our site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical Systems Maintenance:
- Support the maintenance and operation of electrical systems, plant, and equipment with an emphasis on the Paint System and Punch and Press Machines.
- Respond promptly to electrical faults or breakdowns, particularly on critical equipment like the Paint System and Punch and Press Machines.
- Conduct inspections on key electrical plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
2. Preventative Maintenance:
- Assist in implementing and maintaining a preventative electrical maintenance program for production equipment and general facilities electrical systems.
- Perform routine electrical maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
3. Electrical Repairs and Installations:
- Resolve electrical emergencies and unplanned issues, ensuring timely repairs to minimize operational impact.
- Install new electrical components and ensure proper functionality after repairs, particularly for critical systems.
4. Safety and Compliance:
- Promote a safe electrical working environment by adhering to all relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with both legal and company-specific electrical safety protocols.
5. Continuous Monitoring and Improvement:
- Monitor and assess the performance of electrical systems and facilities infrastructure.
- Help manage electrical maintenance costs to ensure resource efficiency.
Primary Objectives:
1. Planned Maintenance Compliance (PMC):
- Achieve a team target of 95%+ completion rate for scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
2. Unplanned Downtime Reduction:
- Contribute to achieving a 50% reduction in unplanned downtime due to missed preventative maintenance.
3. Safety Compliance:
- Maintain zero safety incidents and 100% compliance with safety protocols during electrical maintenance tasks.
4. Compliance with Electrical Standards:
- Ensure 100% adherence to electrical standards and regulations (e.g., IEE Wiring Regulations, OSHA).
Secondary Objectives:
1. Facilities Electrical Support:
- Provide general electrical support for site facilities and troubleshoot electrical/IT-related systems as needed.
- Assist with IT infrastructure maintenance and general electrical systems.
2. Workplace Environment:
- Foster a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
3. Team Collaboration:
- Attend shift production meetings and provide electrical maintenance insights for key systems (Paint System, Punch and Press Machines, and general facilities).
4. Tool and Resource Management:
- Manage and control electrical maintenance tools, equipment, and stores, including IT-related systems and networks.
5. Health and Safety Procedures:
- Strictly adhere to Health and Safety procedures and contribute to a safety-first culture.
6. Quality Procedures:
- Promote quality procedures and continuously improve processes with a "right first time, better every time" mindset.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias.
- Strong proficiency with handheld power tools and technical 2D drawings.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Reliable, resilient, and attentive to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- Flexibility required for evening call-out rota (with additional pay for call-outs).
