Location: Buxton, Derbyshire
Salary: From GBP40,000 depending on experience plus car allowance and attractive benefits package
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Shifts: Monday to Friday 8.30-16.30

About the role

To lead the way towards technical excellence, working together with all SAICA FLEX local technical teams to be perceived by our customers as a supplier that brings value to their business through a proactive technical and innovation approach.

To apply for this opportunity, you will need

• University degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or similar
• Polymers knowledge
• Plastic science
• Flexible packaging knowledge
• Project management skills
• At least 3 years experience as sales director, product development manager, or production manager with industrial sites and commercial operations (sector experience valued)
• At least 1 year experience in processes related to flexible packaging

Main Responsibilities

• Apply Group Policies: Equal Opportunities, Environment, Quality, and Health & Safety
• Understand customer expectations and needs regarding Sustainability, Product Development, and Value Engineering; communicate these needs to relevant teams to develop appropriate technical solutions
• Define, execute, and monitor project plans as part of the Operational Master Plan (OMP) for customers, aligned with priorities
• Lead Sustainability and Total Cost of Ownership projects (Recyclability, LCA, End-to-End analysis) in assigned customers, coordinating with relevant managers
• Coordinate with KAM and technical teams to define and execute Value Engineering projects and improve margins through new technical solutions
• Manage trial schedules for new business onboarding and support trials at customer sites as needed
• Lead responses to innovation contests invited by customers
• Address major technical issues promptly in coordination with Quality and PDE teams
• Drive performance improvements and co-innovation initiatives with customers
• Build relationships with customer R&D and technical communities to position SFX as a preferred partner
• Familiarize with customer factories and main production lines
• Participate in Account Team meetings and support customer meetings with prepared presentations
• Follow procedures outlined in the SFSS manual for the TS role
• Ensure communication and reporting procedures within Sales & Marketing are followed and utilize business information systems effectively
• Support induction and ongoing training for new team members

Additionally, participate in personal training programs, support new initiatives, and report skills gaps for personal development.
