Job Description:

Changan Automobile, a prominent Chinese automotive manufacturer with a global footprint and is expanding its presence in the European market. Having established design and R&D centres in Europe since the early 2000s, Changan is now reinforcing its commitment to the region with a new European headquarters in Munich. Starting this summer, the company will launch operations across various European markets, introducing a line-up of vehicles that combine European design sophistication with cutting-edge Chinese technology. Focused on innovation and quality, Changan is excited to offer intelligent, stylish, and sustainable mobility solutions tailored to meet the needs of both Europe and the UK.

About the Role

We are looking for a Network Development Manager with automotive industry experience to support the launch of the Changan brand in the UK. This hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to help build the business from the ground up. As the Network Development Manager, you will leverage your industry contacts to create, develop, and deliver an excellent dealer network in the UK, while working with an innovative product line-up that blends European design excellence with advanced technology.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Automotive Sales & Marketing.
  • Proven track record of Network Development & Management.

Skills we are looking for:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of automotive industry trends, including dealership ownership models and market developments.
  • Excellent connections to leading Dealer groups across the UK.
  • Proven ability to develop contacts, influence and negotiate successful outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and the ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Strong understanding of UK legal automotive frameworks.
  • Excellent understanding and appreciation of dealership financials.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify and deliver a network of franchised dealers for the UK, in alignment with the company’s representation strategy.
  • Oversee the planning and contract process to establish dealer outlets that meet Changan’s design and representation standards.
  • Implement and deliver UK franchise minimum standards that are fit for purpose of the Changan product line up.
  • Working with investors to develop and present compelling return on investment (ROI) analyses for dealership proposals.
  • Lead, develop and inspire the Dealer Network team.
  • Design and implement processes to monitor and manage dealer performance in accordance with Changan’s standards whilst ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Conduct regular dealer visits and virtual meetings to nurture long-lasting relationships, establishing feedback mechanisms and facilitating open communication through Dealer Associations.
  • Organise and oversee dealer training programs for both Sales and Aftersales teams.
  • Work cross functionally to highlight and reward outstanding network performance at group, site and individual levels.
